The Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Professor Pierre Gomez, has been honoured with the Educational Service Award 2025, in recognition of his contribution and dedicated service to the education sector.
The recognition acknowledges his continued commitment to strengthening The Gambia’s higher education, research, science and technology sectors. Under his leadership, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology has continued to support initiatives aimed at improving access to quality education, strengthening institutions, promoting skills development, and creating opportunities for young people.
The award also reflects the importance of dedicated leadership in advancing the country’s educational development. As Minister, Professor Gomez has remained actively engaged in key programmes and initiatives focused on transforming the higher education and technical and vocational education landscape.
The Educational Service Award 2025 serves as recognition of his contribution to the sector and his continued efforts towards building a stronger, more responsive, and inclusive education system for The Gambia.
