His Excellency Fahri Türker Oba, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to The Gambia, paid a farewell visit to the Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Professor Pierre Gomez, as he prepares to conclude his assignment in The Gambia.
During the farewell visit, Ambassador Oba expressed his appreciation to the Ministry for its efforts in transforming The Gambia’s higher education sector. He reaffirmed his commitment to continued collaboration with MoHERST and expressed confidence that his successor would maintain and further strengthen the partnership with the Ministry.
Professor Pierre Gomez expressed appreciation to Ambassador Oba for his support and collaboration with the Ministry throughout his tenure. The Minister particularly acknowledged his contribution to initiatives supporting the Ministry, including scholarship opportunities for staff and students.
The meeting underscored the strong partnership between Türkiye and The Gambia in the area of higher education and the shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in the sector.
